PatPut99
Hey guys My system is running pretty much perfectly. I'd like to install the 10.5.8 patch to have access to the iTunes store and a few other things. I tried installing it before and lost my sound, but everything else was fine. I was unable to get it working again since I had used a kext off the iPC install CD (Sigmatel 9227). I had to wipe that installation, and now I'm back at 10.5.6. I'd like to update, but only if I can have sound. Does anyone have any ideas or advice? Thanks Pat Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/200104-1058-update/ Share on other sites

Thanks Pat With 10.5.7 & 5.8 updates I updated then reran the IPC installer to replace any kexts replaced by the apple updater. Or you could extract the kexts you need (pacifist) & install manually Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/200104-1058-update/#findComment-1346122 Share on other sites
PatPut99
You're the man with all the answers today! I did try installing them from the CD, install failed and created an unbootable installation which is why I had to wipe it. I'll try extracting them. Thanks!
