JHocking
Hi, I use an iMac as a main computer but recently I've needed something portable to carry around with me. Not for anything very intensive but just enough to do some programming and things like that when I'm away from my iMac. Because of this I've been taking a look at those lovely cheap netbooks but the problem is, I think they're just a bit too small for my liking. I was wonderring if anyone new if it would be possible to take an old Macbook casing (white plastic one for simplicity) and put the hardware from a netbook of some kind inside the casing along with a bigger screen and keyboard to fit the Macbook? I'm not fussed about optical drives, but wifi and working usb ports are a necessity. I dont know much about this since I've never done it before but surely the only problems (apart from getting OS X onto the netbook) would be with the battery and power supply of the macbook and maybe the screen? The power supply from the netbook could just be used instead to avoid complications. Also by the time I've done all this and spent the money, would it be quicker and easier just to snag an old Macbook on eBay? I'm up for a challenge but equally I don't want a project thats going to last for months and months. Thanks for any advice and help Jon p.s hope this is the right forum, if not please let me know and I can move the post to somewhere else! JHocking
Well I was looking at going for a 13.3" screen. Is the size difference between 13.3 and an 11-12" netbook hardly noticeable? I think I'm more worried about the keyboard size really. It's not like this is going to be a main computer for me though so maybe I should stop worrying!
