james.pp
Hi, I've installed iPC 10.5.6 successfully on a partition (HFS+ Journaled) and when I reboot, the bootloader (Chameleon 1.x) only gives me the option to boot from the DVD, it does not see the harddrive partition. SATA is in AHCI mode and Disk Utility says the partition is bootable. I'm stuck. Advice is appreciated. pdave54
Well obviously chameleon has loaded to the drive. Is there another option to try in bios? Did you partition GUID? have you checked in Tutorials (Genius Bar), sure I saw something there once about sata drive problems Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/199996-bootloader-does-not-see-hd-partition/#findComment-1345454 Share on other sites

If i take the DVD out, then it won't boot at all. It seems there's no MBR and/or Chamaeleon on the HD, as the BIOS can't find any boot device. What partitioning scheme are you using?? What partitioning scheme are you using?? Not sure what you mean by 'other option in the BIOS'. It's an Intel board, very little options except AHCI vs IDE mode... The disk was originally partitioned in Windows 7, and I just erased a 60GB partition and made it HFS+ Journaled with disk utility... It was already GUID... You may be right, but windows installers usually partition MBR. You can check via the disk utility on the install dvd Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/199996-bootloader-does-not-see-hd-partition/#findComment-1345470 Share on other sites
