1st what did the screen say when you started in verbose 7 it stopped

2nd You mean it is now working with voodoo kernel, or it was and now it is not, if so go back to when it was working

sry took long on this i had sata connected dvd drive then i was curious so i replaced it with a IDE dvd drive and it actually booted up instead on hanging on still lookin for root device, but then after install it hung on apple logo with spinning circle

then i added the voodoo kernel in customize menu and it worked fine boooted up and everything but my ethernet was not working so i used someones ethernet package and it worked after reboot then on my 2nd reboot it stopped working yes i kno wierd i go to system prefrences and network then i see my ethernet thing there under dial up (i dont ues dial up) but its red, i re did fresh install same thing now i didnt even bother installing the package now im wondering if u can point me in the direction of getting my ethernet working my mobo is in my first post

Sorry your first post does no state what network card/chipset you have. You have to find that out first (try system profiler). then people can help.

system profiler doesntseem to tell anything on my network card just tells me the bds name witch is just en0 then ethernet straight across although in my motherboard manual is says telecom does that help? or should i keep looking

No that does not tell me anything, do you still have windows on machine, if so look in device manager

Nvidia nForce Networking Controller is only thing device manager lists is as no special name (i tried looking for one) i hope that helps

by the way while installing i did check nforce ethernet under customize menu before installation

can't recall coming across ant threads about nforce. Try searching this & other forums, you might come across something.

Worst case if no support for it you could buy a supported card

Sorry so long ago since I did Leopard updates. Did read earlier someone praising ideneb 10.5.8 combo update, check it out.

Don't forget to backup what you have now, you don't want to go through it all again
