olepapajon
Alright so I just got started on this project a couple days ago and I've about had it. I started with the iatkos v 1.0 and got that installed and working correctly. The reason for the install is that I have to do some projects for school while I was away for the Holidays, I needed Garageband. Well to my suprise it didn't come with it. So I looked around and saw that there was a new version of iatkos (v7) which I tried to install just a couple minutes ago. It installed successfully and went to reboot. At that point the mac blue screen started then went to a black screen and made a repetitive noise. The darwin boot screen comes up so I don't think I have to do a boot flag on the drive this time. Any help would be great. If v.7 doesn't come with iLife package can you let me know. v7 looked like it was going to be a lot cleaner so I would like to get it working. Also I know there are some hardware requirements and I'm pretty sure I'm good since my computer is not that old. I don't know what all I need to find out to see If my hardware is good to go, so if someone could explain that process that would be great too. I have a inspiron E1505 with intel core duo 2gb ram blah blah don't know the rest like motherboard and stuff. thanks, JG Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/199810-hardware-and-installation/ Share on other sites
pdave54
read & research. It may takes weeks for you to get it right, but you have to do the hard work on research. You will have to know the rest of the stuff ("" lah blah don't know the rest like motherboard and stuff. "" You will have to learn how to boot Verbose, safe mode etc. Probably nobody is going to take you through it step by step. Not smart saying you are getting commercial software from a friend. So for now learn how to boot verbose, as that will tell what the problem is in text, a blue screen could be one of any number of things.
