Console Application Programming

Hi everyone,

 

I have been working on a program to control a servo controller with the iphone, anyway i couln't get serial communication to work in a cocoa view. But I can get it to work from mobileterminal using Minicom.

 

So I t hink i need to program a console application. How do I go about doing this? Can I complie it in xcode on he mac or do I need to compile it on the iphone? If i need to complie it on the iphone what do i need to install? and can I still access the GPS from a console app?
