Dell desktop suitable for a Hackintosh

I might have the opportunity to purchase one of several Dell desktops for a good price soon. Are any of the current Dell desktop boxes suitable for a Hackintosh ? e.g. one of the Inspiron or the lower priced Studio XPS machines ? (obviously they'd have to be Intel-based models, either Core 2 Duo or Quad)

Just because a mobo is intel based does not mean that you can do a vanilla install (check my siggy)

As I & others have found the gx520 intel dual core has to have a modded kernel

I have Snow Leopard running like a charm on my Dell Inspiron 530. Its very stable and fast - even faster than my MacBook Pro.

I have SL 10.6.2 running on Vostro 420. Vanilla install and everything works except for on-board sound.

 

Stock: Dell Vostro 420, C2Q 8300, 4 GB RAM

Added:

OCZ 550 PS

Sapphire 4870 1GB (dual DVI works, 24" 1920x1200 and 20" 1600x1200)

Logitech Xmod usb sound

 

Reboot and sleep works, but shutdown still needs to be done by click on the button when the cpu is halted.
