lukeyb
Hi guys, I need some help here. I have two USB devices that I randomly plug in and out. One is iPod Touch. The other is a BlackBerry phone. Both were okay before. However, after I update to 10.6.2. I got some random crashes. When I plug in my iPod touch or blackberry, 90% of the time they will be fine. But 10% of chance, immediately I plug in the USB cable, computer screen will go off. It just freezes there and my graphics card makes some heavy fan noise. (It's the same noise as booting up the computer, usually the noise stops when I see the Apple login window.) I need to press the reboot button on my computer case to restart. I thought was corrupted driver. I reinstalled 10.6.0 with the retail disc. I use Chamaleon RC3. With fakesmc.kext updated to the latest version. In 10.6.0, I try to plug in the iPod, I still get the black window sometimes. I very much doubt could be fakesmc.kext caused this. Otherwise, it shouldn't happen to a fresh install. I also suspect the graphics card, I have a 9600GT LP. I stop using the EFI String, switch back to NVEnabler. I can now go through a whole day, get one or two black screen. Before was much more often. That doesn't solve the problem. Another thing is that crash happen so fast, I check the console - all messages - there is not even one trace of evidence for KP. Anyone got any ideas? What could be the cause of this? Thanks in advance. lukeyb
Just realise that this is not a software problem. It's the motherboard's issue. Might have a faulty USB port. Even touch it could freeze the computer.
