Accidentally posted this in the wrong forum before. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

I'm looking to set up a dual boot with Windows 7 and OSX on this computer -

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16834220638

I have installed Kalyway and iAtkos before on a Dell, but I have never tried to et up a dual boot.

Can anyone help me with a good guide on setting up a dual boot hackintosh. And does anyone know of any good information on the hardware linked above and it's compatibility with a hackintosh OS?

THANKS

1. Format your PC with Mac OS installer as GUID

2. Install windows on a second partition

3. Install Mac OS X on first Partition

Voila; it works

LOL, OK. Anyone have any more detailed instructions?

I mean what OSX disk should I use? The Snow Leopard one? I was under the impression that it would not boot normally on a non Apple PC.

Also should everything work fine on the laptop I linked? Graphics card dual core processor??

Thanks

I just ordered the G60vx which appears to be very similar to the K61IC. It appears that with 10.6 you can get the video card to work. There's a thread on this forum about the 220M working. The processor should be no issue since this is the same architecture that Apple uses on their new laptops.

Awesome. Now what about the dual boot? I have no idea how to go about that, can anyone link me to a good guide? I guess I install the Mac OS first?

Thanks

I can't find the thread on the 220M. Can you direct me please?

So from what I can gather this is what I need to do, please correct me if I am wrong -

1. Install Snow Leopard from official disk (will this work?)

2. Get the graphics card working, everything else should work without anything special.

3. Use boot camp to prepare a patrician for Windows.

4. Install Windows 7.

5. ????

6. Profit

Thanks!

No, you have to partition the hard drive with 2 guid partitions. then you format the windows partition to fat 32 and then on a windows computer format it to NTFS. install both operating systems on the HD and find a boot loader that will let you select form the two. I have it working but only able to boot from CD for now so please post when you figure it out!

Well I eventually gave up as I got to the point where I could no longer boot any of the Mac distro's (even the official disk). No idea what I messed up and I had to get it done for Xmas, so I gave up and just went with Windows 7 (which is awesome anyway).

But at one point I had Snow Leopard installed (no sound, keyboard, mouse or wifi), and had the dual boot menu working great.

I used the latest Empire EMI disk which came with a utility on the disk to use after installing Snow Leopard that installed the Empire EMI boot menu to the HD boot sectors. Worked great.
