asusfan
Hi Guys I am new to the forum, I have been reading a lot lately about this, and tried so many times without success, I already have a msi wind running on osx. but I wanted to run my asus g50vt-x5 bestbuy edition with it since it has strong graphics card. If I miss to give anyone credit, just warn me, and I will edit this post. here is my first draft of installation how to for a newbie for osx86 business. 1- obtain iatkos v7 burn it on a dvd 2- I used an external usb harddrive for testing/ since I don't want to loose the expressgate. you need at least 20GB. 3- Start your computer with iatkos dvd, at start enter: "-v cpus=1" wait until apple install shows up. 4- select diskutility 5- perform erase with mac osx journaled on your external hdd, 6- continue with installation, select customize after selecting the partition 7- in customization, there is the trick! select: <from top to down> iatkos main chamelon v2 extra directory dsdt apple decrypt disabler under vga/old enablers: nvinject nvidia gt200 evga *** here: I dont remember what i did exactly, but I might have removed NVDAresman. somebody can confirm it. system: ahci, intel sata/ide intel speedstep sound: voodoo HDA vooodoo ps2 driver laptop battery network: r1000 under wired section / i am not sure if this is needed at all. What works: ethernet, graphics with accelaration, processor both cores, sound, keyboard - mouse usb ports trackpad. what doesn't work: in my hands, wifi, and webcam. that's it! wifi can be overridden by obtaining a realtek usb wifi. guys, help me out making a well documented installation guide. I am sure people are waiting out there to use this. enjoy your hackintosh. Silenus
I recently installed iDeneb on my Asus G50vt-x1. As I'm a newbie I didn't want to install too many drivers with fear it might not boot after. Installed. sound: voodoo HDA vooodoo ps2 driver The only thing I want and it's not working yet is the video card. I have a 9800gs like you. Please tell me how to correctly install it. asusfan
Did you read my post at all? I already explain there that, the trick to get Video adapter was to install nvidia - EVGA 200 series driver from iatkos, search around the forum, or EVGA website, download dmg file, I think you should be able to get to MacOsX if you enter -v -x "Graphics Mode"="1024x768x32@60" at the boot up. Try at your own risk, if you are a newbie, it will take at least 2-3 trials, make a back up of everything on your hdd. I recently installed iDeneb on my Asus G50vt-x1. I have iDeneb and installed the Evga drivers plus nvinject 512mb and it worked. Only problem is that it doesn't show the model of my card, just the Id. I'm triple booting Windows 7, Ubuntu 9.10 and iDeneb Leopard 10.5.8 on the same HD. Tried with Pcsx2 for mac, PS2 emulator, worked great. Another thing that doesn't show correctly is when I click more info on mac properties or whatever is called, it says there was a problem and it couldn't detect my hardware. So I can't see my cpu info in the more info tab, just on about my mac. I will post a shot later of it. catalony
@ asusfan I used iATKOS V7 everything went fine after Struggling with the graphics "nVidia GeForce 9800M GS". Finally graphics worked using old enabler NVinject and EVG 200 Series driver but the resolution is at 1024x768. Is there a way to change the display resolution to a higher one. Any help will be appreciated. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/199219-asus-g50vt-x5-mac-osx-installation/#findComment-1518598 Share on other sites
