mbagger
Hi all. I don't know if this has been listed anywhere before. But for everybody who (like me), installed the 10.6.2 update without first deleting the SleepEnabler.kext, and thereby rendering their SL installation un-bootable. There is an easy fix, even without having a backup available. In your windows installation (I am assuming that you have one), install "Macdrive" (for me version 8 is working perfectly), go to the /Extra/Extensions folder on your snow drive and replace the "SleepEnabler.kext" with the new working one found all over this forum. Reboot to Snow, and whoila, everything is again working ! This worked for me on a Gigabyte P35-DS4, Quad Core, GTX285, and I guess it could be working for many others. Happy Hackintoshing... SticMAC™
[sarcastic] OH NO!! Single User Mode, Boot CD's, Terminal, words WindBlows users have difficulty with! [/sarcastic] (maybe its better to boot into WindBlows(10min) install "Macdrive"(7min), Reboot(2+10min), run "Macdrive"(2 min) remove offending kext(1min), then reboot into MacOS (3min), and reload kext, OR NOT!!) boot to single user mode and remover it that way or boot the install cd and remove it through terminal Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/198547-fix-for-1062/#findComment-1336569 Share on other sites
cnunez1987
As someone else mentioned, you can fix that problem by booting into Single User Mode. Assuming that you're using the Chamelion boot loader, interrupt the bootup and enter the following switches: -x32 -v -s Single user mode mounts drives as ready only, so to update the mount for writing, type: mount -o update I'd recommend doing a clean on the drive using fsck.
