Lost Paradise
Some days ago I've got this error during the boot: Nov 16 19:13:47 localhost kernel[0]: kld_load_from_memory() failed for module com.apple.driver.AppleSMBIOSNov 16 19:13:47 localhost kernel[0]: ^[[33mFailed to load extension com.apple.driver.AppleSMBIOS. Nov 16 19:13:47 localhost kernel[0]: ^[[0mCouldn't alloc class "AppleSMBIOS" It causes no visible trouble in work. But I have strange things I hadn't before. Main page of System profiler is empty (There was MacPro2,1 before). Next, I get "Still waiting for root device" during the boot. After 2 minutes of recieving message, boot goes next. rd=disk1s2 (slice is right) doesn't help, I must wait some minutes too. Finally, I can't boot with USB HDD connected (still waiting for root device). I must disconnect USB HDD and reboot. All this things appeared after Security Update 2009-006. I don't know how to resolve it... System is iDeneb 1.5.1 (updated to mac os x 10.5.8 by apple updater), vanilla kernel. MB: MSI P43T-C51 (patched bios) 4gb ram NVidia GeForce 8500GT (Efi strings) IDE DVD-RW + HDD (Mac Extended) SATA HDD (NTFS) PS I'm sorry for some english mistakes =) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/197951-smbios-error/ Share on other sites
---
Hi there! I am having the same configuration as you, but after installing ideneb 1.5.1(10.5.7) apple logo appears and nothing happens. I have tried vanilla kernel with chameleon 2.0. Could you please tell me your installation data? Thank you so much. Beerkex'd
The update replaced your patched AppleSMBIOS.kext with a vanilla AppleSMBIOS.kext Install Chameleon 2.0 RC4 and use /extra/smbios.plist. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1400949 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/197951-smbios-error/#findComment-1423299 Share on other sites
