Krim404
Hello, i try to run OSX on my Sony S2XP Vaio but there are 3 things which just dont want to work. 1) my Wifi card -> i know there is no possibility to get the original centrino one working. so i added a RALINK 2560F mini pci card, which also dont work (ive already applied the driver from the ralink website - device not found). Is there a possibility to get them running? if not: do you know a miniPCI card which works in mac osx? 2) my Touchpad: my ALPS Touchpad just dont want to run. Whatever i do... it doesnt work (vendor id: 044e, device id: 3007) - i already tried to apply the third party driver from the wiki for the alps touchpad... but it just dont want to run. 3) my soundcard: this one is really tricky. its an AC97 soundcard - ive got the sound logo in the bar and i can adjust the sound volume. the mic in is working... but ive no sound output (System Profiler doesnt find my soundcard) I would be very happy if someone could help me out with the problems. Maybe the one who help me out of my problems will get a little "paypal thank you" Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/19770-sony-s2xp-alps-and-ac97-problem/ Share on other sites
Krim404
Audio seems a really big and common problem - ive found about 30 threads... without any usable answer. Seems like there is a driver for it (/System/Library/Extensions/AppleAC97Audio.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleAC97AudioIntelICH.kext) but it just dont want to work Ive got a Vendor: 8086, Device: 24c5 Intel ICH4 82801DB Soundcard - SoundMAX Wifi Card: RaLink RT2500 Vendor: 1814 Device: 0201 (numbers could be switched) Touchpad: ALPS Glidepoint Vendor: 044e Device: 3007 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/19770-sony-s2xp-alps-and-ac97-problem/#findComment-130004 Share on other sites
Krim404
ok some possible solutions (thanks to canadalove2000) quote: you do not need the third party driver to successfully run the trackpad. Get Acronis disk director suite, and use the Acronis OS loader to make your system switch between mac and XP. Make your Mac OS partition the "active" AND the "bootable partition" from Acronis OS loader. You should then be able to use the trackpad without problem. Sound: maybe its just a problem with the output selection. http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?sh...ic=5150&hl=ac97 lan: seems like the RA driver for the cardbus are PPC only, only the USB drivers are intel native. alternative: Dell Truemobile 1350 wireless minipci which is detected as apple wifi card. Iam unable to check it out, but ill do it at this weekend. Krim404
First the Touchpad: IT WORKED... for about 10 secounds... after that there was no chance to get it working again. Very tricky. 2nd the Sound: no chance. Doesn't work. Is recognized as AC97, vendor ID and so on are correct, but it just dont work. I don't see any chance, because noone is reading this lines in the future (did anyone read anything i wrote down?!), noone is interested in this and it suxxs that iam the only one answering this... i remove mac os x again and go back to my never working windows (yea, only 2 crashs today) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/19770-sony-s2xp-alps-and-ac97-problem/#findComment-135912 Share on other sites
