Hi All,

I bought a Tascam US-122 recently because the 10.4.6 HCL shows that it is fully supported with the installation of the 3.4.0 UB driver from Tascam. My findings are showing that is definitely not the case. Am I doing something wrong or is the entry on the wiki HCL wrong?

This is what I've done so far. Replaced the IOUSBFamily and AppleUSBAudio kext's from 10.4.3. I did this mainly so my Plantronics USB headset would work. It has a built in soundcard. Once I did that my headset works perfectly including the mic input.

Then I started the install for the Tascam driver. It tells you to unplug the cable from the computer which I did and then installed and rebooted. I plugged the US-122 in when my machine started the reboot process. When it comes up I run the US-122 Manager and I get a message that the US-122 is not available.

When I try to run TASCAMUS122.kext manually using kextload I get the following error:

kextload: extension TASCAMUS122.kext/ appears to be valid

34com_TASCAM_driver_US122AudioEngine is not compatible with its superclass, 13IOAudioEngine superclass changed?

kextload: a link/load error occured for kernel extension TASCAMUS122.kext/

load failed for extension TASCAMUS122.kext/

From what little I could find on this error, it says that the compiled driver basically is for a different build of the IOAudioEngine.

I am completely at a loss. Does anyone else out there have this running under 10.4.6? If so how did you get it to work? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
