ashish318
I am running 10.4.6 on an Intel 945GNTL MoBo. The problem is only when i plug in the ipod... everything else works fine, card reader, mouse, kyboard, blutooth dongle etc. sometimes the ipod charges and once or twice it showed up on the desktop after 2-3 minutes but when i opened itunes to sync it and play music from it (using manual sync) itunes just crashed and i wasnt able to browse the pod in finder as well.... any help at all would be appreciated... my mac is perfect except for the ipod issue.. for that i actually have to boot into xp and sync.... boo50
yes man it's really bad. my ipod works great via firewire cable. what connection do you have ? if usb - maybe you have a lot of devices connected to usb, and have no much power for ipod. try to disable some. try to use another hub. DiaboliK
also whats the firmware version of you iPod? try updating to the newest. see if that helps. also try the usb ports on the back of your comp. your FP USB ports might not be getting enough power. Travis Howland
i seem to be having some problems, i have my ipod plugged in the back USB, but it doesnt work correctly. the first time i plugged it in, itunes opened and started updating, but then stopped after only like 50 songs. about ten minutes later i get an error saying that the device has become unreadable and cant write to it. so i restart and itunes starts to load, but doesnt even get that far, i only know because of the black arrow under the icon. the only thing i can think of is maybe try using a firewire cable instead of USB. any other suggestions!!!? feel free to email me: gateway4tt@gmail.com Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/19255-ipod-problem/#findComment-128780 Share on other sites
