drunk3nmonkii
So Eckokid051 has asked me exactly how to install snow leopard on this particular notebook so he lent me the notebook for a weekend and i was able to install this lite distro of snow leopard 10.6 the distro is called "SnowOSX Universal v3.5"(google or a certain bay of thieves it you will be sure to find it...) its a russian Produced Distro which is weird but no need to fear...its primarily in english. Specs: Processor 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 Memory 4,096MB DDR2 SDRAM 800MHz Hard drive 250GB, 5,400rpm Chipset Intel GM45 Express Graphics 512MB Nvidia GeForce 9300M GS OS Windows Vista Premium 64-bit Wifi Intel 5100(still no hope) (Using a Macbook pro Wifi card ..use ebay to find it not to hard it was only 20 bucks!!!) Before we begin i would like to thank Sha_doh and his friend AzureBlack if it werent for them i wouldnt be able to give you guys this install guide thanks to there leopard Tutorial(http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofiversion/index.php/t148302.html) To begin Make sure you have the patched version of the bios located here(http://www.osxcores.site50.net/user/image/n80vbas207.zip) to get both the cores working Other things you have to download post install are: For sound Voodoohda Kext for snow (http://hgkpua.blu.livefilestore.com/y1pAnMINHwXNEqJ9eUXdlS4hM6Uo7I2dvMd70FUrItaoN1IjPHMnwC9kSP1KefWOqu5ICz_Vr6nyrqHf 4JP7HAbaA/VoodooHDA-0.2.2.zip?download) For Gfx NVEnabler (http://hgkpua.blu.livefilestore.com/y1pJDIcktSaTzsOEun8Aeua0myD-jl60Y7QD_4w1yjWcDm5I43l_r80Kxt91d4YwC6EZJqYoqgvi75skZ05aM98jA/NVEnabler_0.1.kext.zip?download) Boot the disto in verbose mode (after pressing f8 type "-v") Format your hard drive in guid Partition and name the hd what ever makes the taste in your mouth water (for me it was "Macintosh HD") In the customize option check only snow_bootloader PS2 IntelPIIATA_FIX LegacyAHCIATA (Optional): Rosetta ATools_Snow After install boot into verbose mode again and your Resolution and sound will be out of whack...head of warning for some reason it panics for the first boot so play with it first until it does...thru wifi i went on safari and started to download anything and it the trick KP!!! dont panic it just does...guess it need to have its period before it becomes a woman lol install the kext after a reboot on the notebook i did it in safe mode with verbose...not sure if it made a difference but couldnt hurt to be safe (-v -x) note use kext helper drag and drop these kext in there and make sure you tage rebuild cache after the easy install of kexts and repair permissions on the hd with disk utility.. Thats about it... and you could install the new updates 10.6.1!!!! woot woot flawlesslt NOTE!!! for some reason installing Chameleon Boot Loader my wifi ceased to work so dont change the boot loader unless some brave soul here can figure out why this happens...or i think its just my wifi card...but i took it off and it works again! tucker4christ
I installed iatkos s3 without the Bios patch and everything works but sleep and web cam! Of course Replaced the wifi card. The only way i have been able to get CI/QE on my GeForce 9300m gs: I used NVCPA Maker 1.4 to get my NVCAP:040000000000ff00000000000000000700000000 NVCAP Maker 1.4.app.zip Also for some reason when I moved Natit.kext out of Extra into my regular Extension folder I have had more success. I added my device ID to both: NVDAN50Hal.kext and NVDAResman.kext which for me is:0x06e910de I also have got the vram (which is 512) set right by changing it to this: <key>VRAM,totalsize</key> in Natit.kext <data>AAAAIA==</data> Everything work with my graphics card!!!! I POSTED THIS IN MY EDIT BECAUSE NO ONE CAN GET THE BIOS MOD! Bairdsly
I could use the BIOS too, used it to install Leopard and then when flashed it recently and apparently the modded bios isn't on my hard drive anymore. If anyone could either pm me a link, or put it up on megaupload/rapidshare it would be much appreciated! hunabku
Hi everybody! I've got an Asus x3vb-x2 I did a retail install following some of the steps here and in other posts. Problem is I can't get my Laptop to boot from the hard disk and the card reader freezes everything when I load my 4 Gb SD card. I tried the latest version of chameleon and read here that I might be needing that mod Bios... I've used the kexts listed before and repaired the disk and cleaned the cache, it helped with some of the kexts but alas... I'm a total Noob so I'd appreciate any help!
