Richog007 Posted October 15, 2009 Share Posted October 15, 2009 hi ok first off im new.... ive been reading just about everything in the past few days on installing sl on an i7 platform and well ive came to the conclusion that i should ask for some guidance on maybe whats fully needed for what i have. any comments or suggestions i gladly would like to hear from you my current pc set up is core i7 920 asus rampage 2 gene 2x evga gtx 260 core 216 currently set up in sli 6gb corsair ddr3 dominator 1600mhz 1x 500 gb set up currently dual boot win 7 and vista sp2 both 64 bit 1x 640 gb set up as storage and is basically almost full (lots of movies) onboard xfi onboard Realtek RTL8168C link to full specs http://asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=6i86Hj0l...&templete=2 what i have so far in terms of things ill probably need for installation sl retail iatkos 5i and a few other stuff mentioned in the other posts for i7 systems so my question is what should i use to get sl fully installed and working for my set up? i saw that some one had mentioned that they got a r2extreme working, im curious as to what they used to get it all working, since my mobo is basically the same just missing a couple slots so as of now nothing apple related is installed and ive pretty much lost myself reading all the tuts on the different mobos. and also is it possible to keep my already installed partitions there, or is it a full reinstall thats needed because i would like to end up with a triple boot sys of sl, win7 and vista when im all done anyways thanks in advance Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/192182-asus-rampage-2-gene-extreme-and-sl/ Share on other sites More sharing options...
