Wuzzie
Hi, When I installed OS X on VMware on my or my friend's PC, I get the b0 error. I fixed it with GParted, then booted and it goes through all of this... stuff in the -v mode, then restarts. This happens in native AND in VMware. VMware says: *** Virtual machine kernel stack fault (hardware reset) ***The virtual machine just suffered a stack fault in kernel mode. On a real computer, this would amount to a reset of the processor. It can be caused by an incorrect configuration of the virtual machine, a bug in the operating system, or a problem in the VMware Workstation software. Press OK to reboot virtual machine or Cancel to shut it down. Does anybody know how to fix this? PS: I have tried -x and platform=X86PC Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/19014-os-x-boot-kernal-stack-fault/ Share on other sites
gwprod12
What Motherboard, Processor and OS version are you attempting? This could be a problem of lack of PAE or SSE2 support. I've had similar problems, and it was either one or the other of those. Always include the relevant specs when asking a question, to get the best result. I.E. "My wireless card doesnt work!" should be followed up with "It's a RTL8185 chipset, and it doesnt show up in airport" Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/19014-os-x-boot-kernal-stack-fault/#findComment-124553 Share on other sites

gwprod12
... if you're using 10.4.4 (I think) and up, you must enable PAE in VMware. edit the Virtual Machine file, and add paevm=true. for more information, search for paevm. Wuzzie
Just searching b0 doesn't get good results... I don't even know what kind of result I'm looking for. I have used teh method with gparted liveCD, fixed teh b0 error, but then I get this, with the loading, then restarting. I have also download a PPF or PFF thingy that aparently fixes it, but how do I use it? Thanks. Rammjet
Apply the patch... as in just stick the folder in with tehrest fo the iso? No. If you look in the PPF package, a patching utility is provided. Rammjet
When creating the partition on which you installed MacOS X, did you do the step that says to make the partition "active"?
