Hey everybody,

I finally managed to make the Snow Leopard CD boot on my PC, but every time the mach_kernel begins running, I get a kernel panic with the message "should have 2 Threads, but only found 3 for Die 0" (I've searched and googled for remedies for over 2 hours, to no avail). I've tried changing several options for the kernel on boot and in the BIOS (most notably acpi=off, acpi=noirq, noapic, nolapic, -legacy, -x, platform=X86PC, arch=i386, cpus=0, cpus=1, cpus=2 and cpus=3) to boot, but every time i get the same message.

It seems to be related to the kext AppleACPI... something, ill get the name off when i try to boot off of it again in the next couple of minutes. I'm using the GA-EP45-DS3L-SL v1.04.iso CD with chameleon 2.0 RC3 to load snow leopard (yes, I know the Cd was designed with a tutorial for THAT board, but I'm pretty sure it's not to blame).

I also noticed that it enables Physical Address Extension and 64 bit more while loading up the kernel, whether or not that really means anything I'm not sure.

My system specs are as follows:

ASUS P5KPL/EPU Motherboard (Intel G31 chipset)

Intel Dual Core E5300 (800 Mhz FSB, 2.6 Ghz, 2MB cache per core, Apparently it is also 64 bit ready, but my model is one of the unlucky ones not to have virtualization).

2 GB of RAM

1 TB HD on SATA 0 with Windows XP on it

DVD Drive on SATA1

500 GB HD on SATA3 for Mac OS X (if i run into Kernel Panics because of the port the HD is plugged in, ill change it - right now I want to be able to boot the retail CD).

If you need any more information, or know how to install on my specific motherboard/get rid of that annoying Kernel Panic, I'd be extremely grateful.

Thanks!

Update: I got the last things I see in verbose mode before the crash:

npvhash=4095
PAE enabled
64 bit mode enabled
Darwin Kernel Version 1.0.0 (and some more things)

Mig_Table_Max_Display = 73

[SleepEnable] calling pminitComplete()...
NullCPUPowerManagement::init:properties 0x3d9c540
NullCPUPowerManagement::start
AppleACPICPU ProcessorId=1 LocalApicId=0 enabled
AppleACPICPU ProcessorId=2 LocalApicId=1 enabled
AppleACPICPU ProcessorId=3 LocalApicId=130 disabled
AppleACPICPU ProcessorId=4 LocalApicId=131 disabled
panic(cpu0 called 0x293e3d): should have 2 Threads, but only found 3 for Die 0.
Lots of hex code

and it originated from AppleACPIPlatform.kext

It also says the my model name is GA-EP45-DS3L, although that's probably because of the boot CD's origins.

Update 2: The boot CD comes from here:
