So I have successfully gotten Leopard 10.5.7 on this laptop. One of the major issues I am having is getting this laptop to go to sleep. I am not sure but I believe it is because i have an unsupported graphics card. I was wondering if:

  • There is a definitive guide to resolving sleep issues
  • There is a reason my laptop will go into 'half-sleep'. The drive will sleep, the display will freeze and that is it. No dimming, no powersave, etc
  • Can I use a linux dsdt to get sleep to work?

.

Can someone help me resolve this or point me to the right direction? I have built plenty of desktop hackintosh systems but for some reason laptop seem to be the ones I have the most issues with. Specifically sleep.

Have same graphics card and same issue. Can't help (probably is the unsupported card) but I am just wondering if you have been able to get more than the standard 1024x768 resolution? Thanks

I have not tried the card with an external monitor. The monitor on the screen is 13" I believe to the maximum resolution is 1024x768. I believe there is a way to set the VESA resolution in the chameleon bootloader but I am not sure if that line works on unsupported intel gma. Put this line in the com.apple.Boot.plist file:

<key>Graphics Mode</key>
<string>1440×900×32</string>

Thanks!

Thanks. Have tried that already. Unfortunately it seemed to destroy the install! Ended up reinstalling.
