Up & Running, BUT .. NO - Sound nor Internet Access?

Hi guys, I spent forever yesterday trying to get Leopard up and going with the stupid 'Still waiting for root device' problem, but overcame it after literally about 8 hours on it.

 

So I'm in the OS, but I don't have any sound.

I have a Sound Blaster Audigy, and I tried installing all the versions of kXaudio drivers from this forum with no change whatsoever.

 

Secondly, I have a Motorola Surfboard modem which uses a USB port.

Mac recognizes both my router and modem and automatically adds a IP address, gateway etc.

And it seems like it's all good, although when I hop on safari, the pages never load?

 

Oh and last of all, I edited the boot list to enable 1280x1024 reso, but is it possible to boot it up to a widescreen resolution - 1650 x 1050?
