Apoc112
I was running a stable iPC 10.5.6 installation but was starting to lose some of the features that required 10.5.8 or SL (like safari's latest release), so I tried to upgrade to 10.5.8 but made a dumb mistake and could no longer boot it. Rather than trying to go right back to 10.5.6, I tried @kdetech's SL boot132 because I have access to a retail SL dvd. I could never even make it to the installer with that, so I decided to go back to my iPC 10.5.6 and wait for a better retail SL solution. Now I've done a fresh 10.5.6 install with (as far as i know) the same options as I used before for my stable installation, and it won't boot past "still waiting for root device" Is is possible that something is lingering from my failed 10.5.8 upgrade or SL installation attempts? Or am I just missing something obvious? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/188992-problems-going-back-to-a-previous-installation/ Share on other sites
mrfatboy
Make sure your sata drive is in the Sata 0 or 1 connector and make sure when you reinstall you have to erase the partition that the old OS is on. I tried to upgrade to 10.5.8 and it failed for me also. I'm back at 10.5.7. Apoc112
I believe it's on SATA 0... I haven't changed it since I had my stable installation. I did erase the partition when reinstalling - still no luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/188992-problems-going-back-to-a-previous-installation/#findComment-1281338 Share on other sites
