Hi, i was recently trying to get iPC Mac Os X 10.5.6 working on my laptop.

I made a partition on my harddrive and attempted to install Mac os on it.

I didnt get it to work so i just got rid of it.

Now, How do i get my Windows XP to boot normally?

everytime i open my comp it just ends up at a blinking underscore.

I tried booting the windows install CD, go into Recovery console

tried fixboot, fixmbr, but still ends up at the blinking underscore!!

Can anyone guide me to resolve this problem!

Thanks in advance!!

It gets to be fun when you do this arround 2300 times lol.

You basiclly need to mark your XP partition as active.

To do this you will need to boot using a bootable USB key / CD /Floppy / Vista CD / Umbutu CD

Then run the partition utility and mark your old partiton as active.

You can download diskpart from the net if you dont have a vista CD

commands go like

select disk 0

list partition

select partition

active

reboot

At lest this is what I have been doing.

Your smart with not wasting time trying to get it to work.

I suspect in another year we may have a distro that works. Without having to do a circus and not sleep for 10 days.

Is this the same as using the fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0, f 1 commands from the Mac Terminal?
