chinoy
Hello people! Is there a way I can install Snow Leopard onto my Lenovo Y500 Notebook. I am not very experienced with OSx installation. I read various topics and threads but somehow am not clear with how things work. Please help! Im no expert and am strugling with isntall issues myself. Dont think anybody will spoon feed you the steps. Best bet a. Look for a Guide. There are guides which give step by step instructions for most hardware. The only problem with these guides is that they are for older versions. The OSX Wiki is a good starting point. b. Next is to grab a copy of the ISO and burn it to a DVD. Here pirate bay is your best friend. If your in a 3rd world country like me with no access to amazon etc to buy a copy c. Create a partition. On your hard dis. It should be primary and type should be Mac file format. Google Dispart ID=AF d. Reset your bios values. Pop in the DVD and boot off it. e. THen the install will crash or hang. Then you will be at where Im at right now lol. f. Then you spend another 10 days reading and begging for help. On various forums like Hackintosh and here. All the best. Yes you are asking for baby food. As Im sure I am too in my post which nobody has responded to. How many days have you spent reading the various guides. ? (Avrage time spent is arround 10 days) How many distributions have your downloaded and tried so far ? Normally people try at least 2 before geting it right . This is not for Noobs unless you have a very specific reason for wanting to run OSX I would suggest you forget about it. And get your self something noob friendly like Linux.
