adrock42 Posted September 18, 2009 Share Posted September 18, 2009 besides the .avi file type, which should play just fine in FCP. It really depends more on the codec used inside the files. I would suggest closing everything and installing perian. if that doesnt work try flip for mac. or XVID. but all of those decoders are flakey and that might not work at all with whatever you are editing. You can grap mpeg streamclip and convert to a more FCP suitable codec and file type such as DV/DVC-Pro or Apple Pro Res inside of a .mov file type.
