PsychoDad
Hello, i've been using MacBook for several years, now i'm using hackintosh desktop pc for couple of weeks. My hardware is: Intel DX58SO MoBo Intel i7 920 CPU nVidia GeForce GTS250 GPU I've installed iAtkos v7 without any problems (except I had some fun time enabling QuartzGL :-)), updated to 10.5.8 with no problems too, everything works just fine except one annoying problem - CPU fan. In BIOS I can change it to run at "Slow" or "Full" speed. Now when I boot to Leopard CPU fan is set to run even slower than "Slow" mode, then CPU temperature goes up to 69C (I'm using app called "Hardware Monitor" to check temp) and then fan starts to run at full speed (really noisy), after some 45-60 seconds temp goes down to 60C and fan is again slowed down to minimum speed and then again the same cycle - temperature goes up, fan kicks in, temp goes down, fan slows down. I've tried smcFanControl - it crashes before even starting. I also have "Fan Control" is System Settings, but it's not working either. I have FakeSMC kext installed, I see SMC version in System Profiler (it wasn't there before installing FakeSMC). So the question - is it possible to control CPU fan speed on my hardware? Or is the only option to buy hardware fan speed adjuster? Thanks in advance! Cheers.
