timbuckto
I was just browsing around in the forums and noticed your post. What kind of file was it and how did you burn it? If it's an ISO then you will need to burn it with nero using Programs -> Nero -> Burning Rom program. Once in there you will need to select burn a DVD Image and it will ask you where the image is. There is only a 2 GB file limit if you aren't using the UDF format and instead are burning using the Joliett 9660 format. The reason you should burn the ISO as an Image and not as a data disk is because there is boot information located in the ISO image. I found a note in another forum (at another site) that says to go to.. Nero -> Recorder -> Burn Image. Happy hacking. P.s. You should go a head and take the unallocated partition and format it. If not, you won't be able to see the unallocated space using Disk Utility (Yeah, you will need to go into Tools -> Disk Utility and format your now simple partition after you boot into the install disk. Make sure to not format your windows partition) Once you create the partition you will now be able to install OSX to it. P.s.s. Make sure to select only the necessary patches for your hardware. Don't just select all the Kernel's you can or all the SMBIOS edit's that are available. Normally the default settings are fine. Oh and don't expect it to be super duper fast. Even if your hardware matches Apples exactly. You should be looking at about 30-60 minutes to install and start up. Check back with some of the other forums if you are still having problems. Most of the time you will need to change some BIOS settings and select specific settings once you are done doing that. zSolo
Hey, i really appreciate your post. I will try everything you suggested. And Yes i did just make a Data disk, Unziped the file and dragged the files into the Nero and Burned Thanks for the post agian. Hopefully everything works. When i go to burn the image, there are no Images files, just folders and what not Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/186613-installing-ipc-osx86-1056/#findComment-1266554 Share on other sites
srs5694
You should find a big (~4GB or larger) file with a .iso extension in whatever you downloaded. If you don't see such a file, or if it's much smaller than that, then you downloaded the wrong package -- or perhaps somebody is deliberately distributing mislabeled files. Given that you seemed to boot Caldera DR-DOS, I suspect the latter. zSolo
Aight my problem was i was not realizing that That intire folder was the ISO file, but iwas confused because it look in WinRar format so i unziped it, if that makes sense. I to the Iso on to a dvd, and I almost get it to Install/boot or w.e But it goes intoa continuous loop, I press -v or w.e to get to the Apple logo and the loading circle then it goes back to the boot screen to enter -v or ? again. Any suggestions? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/186613-installing-ipc-osx86-1056/#findComment-1267032 Share on other sites
