Liando
Hi, I've recently tried to install the 10.5.1 osx version on my pc. First i wanted in vmware (6.5) , which was unsuccessfull - what happend was i got the apple loading screen for about an hour and a half with no success. Obviously i put a stop to that loading(It's stuck on dsmos:starting). Then , as dual boot - i created a partition with partition magic, and also tried with diskpart, none successful. I don't think it matters, for the following reason: When i try to dual boot , the same disc that doesn't work with vmware works . Though i get to the Disk Utility - where i try to find my HD, and it just does not appear. All i see is the optical drive with the install disk in it. Wanted to know what i could do, i really would like to have that os. Thanks guys ! Thanks guys ! don't worry about vmware, because i tried me too to install mac os x 10.5.1 but unsuccessful. i think that mac os x 10.5 can't be installed on vmware, however. for your problem i will suggest to you to visit this page: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=39253 is a tutorial step by step how to dual boot mac os x with windows xp. in my opinion if you have opportunities to get a second HDD would be as easy for you to install and then to dual boot with windows xp. i hope this be helpful for you. good luck. Liando
Thanks , i'll try that guide =] About the other HDD - I have an external IOMEGA 500G HD, but i have other things on it. If i were to install it would i have to take everything off it or there's a way to keep those things? Thanks =] Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/185720-problems-installing-kalyway-1051/#findComment-1261593 Share on other sites
Liando
Hmmm, I've tried doing what's listed in that guide. Yet unfortunately, no success there. Maybe it's because my hd is sata? I know that when I install XP it also doesn't recognize my HD , I need to give it a driver disket for it to recognize the sata. Could that be the problem? Could that be the problem? i don't thing that you will find a driver diskette to update your hdd sata drivers for mac. so you have to check at costumizing installation before you install mac os x. if your hdd driver support doesn't appear i think you have to download a different version of mac os x like is Mac OS X 10.5.6. just google it with this keywords. Mac OS X 10.5.6 Installation DVD torrent, and download torrent from The Pirate Bay(TPB). i think there you can find your hdd driver support because are a lot off. but becarefule don't select 2 versions drivers for your hdd just one, becouse if you couse 2 differet drivers at each one type of drive the installation will fail. i think that is better for you to give a try this version(Mac OS X 10.5.6), because i have tried it myself and it works perffect for me. you just need to follow all the inductrions for this installation. but before you begin this i think that is better for you to read some wikis, if you haven't done that yet. http://tgrounds.blogspot.com/2009/04/leopa...on-your-pc.html for costumizing installation of Mac OS X 10.5.6 i will advise you some basic inductions that will not fail(i works for me) Boot with -v flag to see what is behind the problem. It is very hard to suggest a certain configuration without testing the hardware first. Though I can suggest some basic skeleton with no warranty for it to work. StageXNU Universal Kernel and voodoo kernel from kernels (boot with -v stageXNU or -v voodoo flags) Intel ICHx SATA from Chipset Drivers ACPI Fix from Fixes and Patches IntelCPUPMDisabler from Alternate Disablers AppleSMBIOS-27 Rev3 Mac from AppleSMBIOS Patch EFI Studio, OSx86 Tools Utility, Pacifist, MKext Tool, NTFS 3-G + MacFUSE from Application Other drivers may be installed later with working system. and check if you find your hdd drivers support. i don't now what to say more. i hope this be helpful for you. good luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/185720-problems-installing-kalyway-1051/#findComment-1262290 Share on other sites
