rhe Posted September 7, 2009 Share Posted September 7, 2009 Hi, I got trouble installing OSX on my HP Compaq 8510p. Acually it did´nt worked yet. Here are the specs of the HP Compaq 8510p - HP Compaq 8510p - Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7200 2.00 GHz , 4 MB L2 cache, 800 MHz Front Side Bus - Intel Wireless LAN 802.11a/b/g, Bluetooth2.0+ - Mobile Intel Chipset PM965 - Seagate SATA 200 GB 7200RPM HDD - DVD+/-RW SuperMulti with Double Layer Fixed - Intel Gigabit Network Connection (10/100/1000 NIC) - Expansion Slots: 1 Type I/II PC Card slots, SD Card slot - Ports: 4 USB 2.0 ports, VGA, stereo microphone in, stereo headphone/line out, Firewire (1394a), power connector, RJ-11, RJ-45 - ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 with 256 MB I tried it with iDeneb 1.6 (Lite). Booting from the Installation DVD takes about 15 Minutes. I have to disable Native SATA in the Bios for the Installer to recognize the HDD. I choose the chipset driver (ICHx Fixed for ICH8) and leave the other default values. When starting to installation process the installer quits at about 50% with the error message "Install Failed, Mac OSX could not be installed on your computer. The installer could not validate the contents of the leopard_installer" package. Contact the software manufacture for assistance. The install log says the same. I tried IAIKos v7. Booting from the installation DVD takes here about 15 minutes. I do not need to disable native SATA in the BIOS. I choose ICH driver for the ICH8. When starting the installation process the installer quits at 0% with the error message "Install Failed, Mac OSX could not be installed on your computer. The installer could not install the software because there was no software found to install. The log says that the ich driver package was not found. Please help! GamingFusion Posted December 2, 2009 Share Posted December 2, 2009 Have you tried installing it a few times on the HDD? Once when i was installing it i had to try it multiple times before it actually installed. and make sure when you format the HDD for the install you use Mac OS Extended Journaled for the partition file system. This is key for it to work Not sure if any of that will help.
