Hey guys, first post over here on insanely mac.

Right now I'm on a macbook unibody 13", 2.4ghz dual core, 4GB ram.

I'm looking to build a hackintosh desktop with a quad core to replace it.

I want to run leopord for sure, and preferably snow.

I am a newbie PC builder, and even more newbie osx86 guy.

I really just need some help.

I want to know the most compatible parts, to yield the best osx install.

I'm looking for like a quad core machine, 4-8b ram (depending on what i can afford) no HDD needed, I have a 250gb SATA western digital. etc. etc.

I just need someone to tell me exactly what i should buy, and also what osx86 version and whatnot to use and what special options (if any) I need to use.

Thanks SO much in advance, it means a whole lot to me.

Here's the build I just bought, ~$600 shipped from Newegg.com, it's got a Core 2 Quad, the lower end one but you can use any LGA 775 C2Q with this motherboard. Everything here is supported by OS X, obviously if you want a different case, power supply etc. that's your choice, I am just showing you an example of a Hackintosh build that is well supported.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 2.33GHz

GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L

OCZ SLI-Ready Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB)

XFX HD-487A-ZHFC Radeon HD 4870 1GB

Xigmatek MIDGARD-W Black

Thermaltake TR2 430W

LG DVD Burner Black

Arctic Silver 5

Firewire PCI Express Card
