xomp
I've been searching for days now with no luck. What I'm trying to do is take my Retail Leopard 10.5.2 Install DVD and somehow inject the 10.5.8 update into the DMG. I've tried extracting the contents of the update and overwriting the files on my DMG with no luck. Someone mentioned once about editing the OSInstall.mpkg file to look in /Installation/Packages or something but never clarified doing this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Beerkex'd
It would be simpler to install the OS and then update it normally. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/183653-injecting-updates-into-iso/#findComment-1252133 Share on other sites
xomp
I'm guessing that means there's no way? O_o Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/183653-injecting-updates-into-iso/#findComment-1252157 Share on other sites
Beerkex'd
I don't know but I don't think so. The update and the scripts in it are meant to update an existing, functional installation, not an installation disc. For example, you can't overwrite kext A with the new version of kext A that comes with the update, because the extensions that come in the update package are usually incomplete, they only carry the files that are updated. You have to merge them instead. I've been able to do this successfully using Pacifist. Either way you'll have a hell of a time with dependencies and permissions. I would drop it and just install from the 10.5.2 DVD and then run the updater.
