Silent_Panther
My shortcuts are only working for a short time after a reboot. Affected shortcuts are all shortcuts for Expose & Spaces, CTRL + Tab and all screen print shortcuts. Re-assigning is not helping.... In 10.5.7 the shortcuts would stop working after the OS was up for around 5 days (sometimes even longer). After the upgrade to 10.5.8 they stop working after a couple of hours I have seen a few posts about this problem w/o a solution Any idea what i could look for / try out? thx, David Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/183377-shortcuts-not-working-any-more/ Share on other sites
Silent_Panther
Short update: It's working fine now for 13,5 hours and it is still OK here is what I have done so far: - fixed a network error message "_CFGetHostUUIDString: Unable to determine UUID for host. Error: 35" by adding a new entry in NetworkInterfaces.plist - re-installed AppleSMBios 28 - reverted my background to a standard image which came with Leopard and a standard screensaver (I found an error message in system.log which was written around the time the shortcuts stopped to work) I have the impression that the screensaver with a high resolution image was the culprit. If this is true it had nothing to do with the upgrade to 10.5.8 I will continue to monitor my system and update this thread if this is a long term solution Update (09.09.2009): It's running for 4 days now w/o any problems so it is an issue with the background image / screensaver. Will try to narrow down a solution and contact others who had a similar problem to find out if it was caused there as well by the screensaver David Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/183377-shortcuts-not-working-any-more/#findComment-1254238 Share on other sites
