This issue is there since the DVD you boot doesn't have the right driver for your SATA controller. Thus you'd need a distrib that has support for it. What version of iDeneb do you use? I'll start off by saying: the forum has a nice search feature. If you just enter your mainboard you can find tons of threads about your mainboard. This is one I came across: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...aded&start= So apparently iPC 10.5.6 should be a good one for you Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/182833-ideneb-cant-detect-harddrive/#findComment-1242515 Share on other sites

Or does it hang at the boot of the dvd? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/182833-ideneb-cant-detect-harddrive/#findComment-1243985 Share on other sites

It uses like 10 minutes more before its loaded into the installer .. and when i want to use the disk utility, there is no harddrive! Same problem as with ideneb version .. v1nsai
Having this problem too. I've used iDeneb, iPC and iAtkos and all have had the same problem. Everything starts up fine, except in verbose I notice a problem about [kextd47] root filesystem is read-only skipping kernel link data generation and then in the installer my drive is never seen. I've gone into BIOS and enabled AHCI with my SATA drive (I even tried IDE just for the hell of it) but with several distros having the same problem, it seems like the problem is on my system. Any tips appreciated, this has been a tiresome but interesting project but I'm pretty stuck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/182833-ideneb-cant-detect-harddrive/#findComment-1355751 Share on other sites
