Hello all,

I recently installed iATKOS v7 (1.5.7) onto my system, and have everything working quite well. I'm just curious if there is any recent support/development for NVraid hardware raid? I currently have a dual boot Vista/OS X on 2 separate drives, but had a 4 drive raid 5 array setup previously for mass storage that i'd like to have access to from my OS X

I have searched these forums and most of the posts i've found say that there is no support for this, but they are all pretty old posts, so i was curious to know if there have been any recent developments i may have missed.

If anyone know of any solutions for this or projects that are working on it i would appreciate any info available

thanks

If you mean your motherboard's RAID feature than you are probably out of luck. Most onboard RAID options are FAKE RAIDs and are not actual hardware raid controllers. They function similar to how setting up raid via your OS works but run from the motherboard.

True RAID controllers are those which do all of the processing onboard and do not pawn the work off on your CPU.

If you are looking for a RAID option which you can utilize between Windows and OSX than you would need to get your hands on one of these RAID controller Cards and they are not cheap. Most of the cheap cards ive seen are FAKE RAIDS and work the same as your motherboard's option. See "Firmware/driver-based RAID" here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAID

Im in the same boat so I feel your pain.
