Hi

I have successfully installed iATKOS v7 on my Dell XPS 430.

Network, audio, nvidia 9800gt are working fine but My Blu-ray combo drive is not recognized after install eventhough i have used the same one to install osx.

I have total 3 sata hard drives of 750gb 750gb 320 gb, one blu-ray combo drive and 2 usb ide drives of 320gb and 80gb.

USB drives are working fine but when i install on sata hdd's system is not booting.

In my bios setting there is nothing for AHCI and it has two RAID options and by default RAID on option is selected and when i try to change my dell is warning saying that "changing this option may cause disk crash or data loss blah.. blah..."

I Ran /usr/sbin/system_profiler and got following outbut ... i guess my dell xps is on intel x48 board..

I have attached the hardware info...

I have installed system with intel sata/ide system drivers, wired network drivers chemelon bootloader 2 usb drivers and nvidia enabler...

please help to fix this dvd issue...

Bump!! Please Help Guys...

Hi - did you get any further with this? I have an XP 430 also and am trying to install but not a lot of joy - saying that I still have vista so not trashed it quite YET!

Can you share the settings you used please?

Some additional detail.

I am installing on a 230GB hard drive - a separate one to Vista.

I have formatted this using the disk utility in IAKOS as MAC Journalled and the install seems to go fine.

Once I reboot and select the drive to boot from I get an error.

I've seen on old posts about going back into install, running the command prompt and using diskutil:

diskutil list (to know your partition number)

fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0

flag 2 (put your partition number of leopard)

update

write

y

q

Done all this - restart - select drive to boot from but still get errors - doesn't even try to boot - just get:

boot0: MBR

boot0: done

boot1: error

Then nothing...

Hope you can help.

Thanks,

Mike

There is XPS 430 sellout by Dell on ebay for $500 now. Tempted, as I have (a different MB I believe) XPS 420 working fine. You may try my install settings but possibly will not work as the two models differ a bit.

BTW, the auction is item=320422808740
