okcharlie
Bump!! Please Help Guys... Hi - did you get any further with this? I have an XP 430 also and am trying to install but not a lot of joy - saying that I still have vista so not trashed it quite YET! Can you share the settings you used please? Some additional detail. I am installing on a 230GB hard drive - a separate one to Vista. I have formatted this using the disk utility in IAKOS as MAC Journalled and the install seems to go fine. Once I reboot and select the drive to boot from I get an error. I've seen on old posts about going back into install, running the command prompt and using diskutil: diskutil list (to know your partition number) fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0 flag 2 (put your partition number of leopard) update write y q Done all this - restart - select drive to boot from but still get errors - doesn't even try to boot - just get: boot0: MBR boot0: done boot1: error Then nothing... Hope you can help. applebender
There is XPS 430 sellout by Dell on ebay for $500 now. Tempted, as I have (a different MB I believe) XPS 420 working fine. You may try my install settings but possibly will not work as the two models differ a bit. BTW, the auction is item=320422808740 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/181743-iatkos-v7-installed-on-xps-430-but-dvd-drive-not-working/#findComment-1278664 Share on other sites
