I have tried iATKOS v5i, iDeneb 10.5.5, and Kalyway 10.5.2. On iATKOS and iDeneb I get "Still waiting for root device", after AppleNForceATA conveniently tells me that it found 0 devices. So, I did some research, and found out that this is because my Device ID's (0x005410de) is not supported by the kext by default, so I need to inject a newer version of the AppleNforceATA.kext (which I have downloaded). So, the step I would need to take in order to use iATKOS or iDeneb would be to inject that kext into the image and reburn a new image. I have tried to do this on my Windows machine using MagicISO and Isobuster, which both told me there was not enough room in the image for the new files. (???). What can I do about this?

And, as far as Kalyway goes, I think AppleNForceATA.kext detects my controller, but shortly after I get SAM Multimedia read/write error, which, according to my research, means that AppleNforceATA deos not support my SATA DVD Drive. I found MeDevil's AppleNforceATA_TEST.kext.zip which supposedly fixes this problem.

So, no matter what I do, basically I need to know how the hell I can get these .kext's injected into one of my disc images. I tried a .command file that was included in my Kalyway download that was capable of injecting kext's, but every command it ran ended with "No such file/directory exists". And I have tried the method on the OSx86 wiki and have the same problem. I realize that this is a VERY long post, but hopefully since I have provided so much information, you will be able to help me.

Thanks in advance.

By the way, as a side note, I was an idiot and thought that Kext_helper would help me achieve my goal. Not realizing that it was intended to run on the target system, not to inject into an iso. It put AppleNforceATA into my /System/Library/Extensions/ folder. I really hope that this did not replace an existing file. I am afraid to restart my system. Any advise? Figured out that this did not replace an existing driver, so it looks like I'm good here.

By the way #2, (haha), I see that iPC has the AppleNforceATA Test kext. Will it use this while loading the installer, or will I only have the option to choose it after I get into the installer? (which I wont be able to do if it doesn't use his driver in the first place.) This was the solution. I used iPC 10.5.6 and used a PPF patch that injected AppleNforceATA_TEXT.kext into the install disc. Now it is able to detect my SATA controller (nForce4) and my DVD Drive and I can boot into the installer. I will update this post with the results of the installation
