ihackthetosh
Im Running a Acer Aspire 8730-6951, can i run osx86, do you need anymore info, can you guys replay asap. My advice is to give it a go... If you value your current install of whatever OS is on it, get EaseUS DISC COPY and image your install to another hard drive before anything else. I've used it before and it works great. Figure out what chipset you have and go to town with a few different versions of OSx86. I tried iDeneb_v1.4_10.5.6 and iPC OSx86 on my custom built pc and iDeneb worked for me. Your results may vary. Also, the reason I mention researching your chipset is because I had the most success installing just the patched kernel ( in iDeneb, it is the only item checked by default in the install options ) and the chipset to drive the hard drive. Then, boot using the -F flag for the first boot. From there, use OSx86 Tools to auto-detect and install your kexts (kernel extensions, aka drivers) If your first boot doesn't work, try the following bootflag which is a safeboot + verbose mode (you see the loading text rather than the veil that normally covers it--the gray sceen with the apple logo): -x -v Good Luck.
