Humes
Hello there, forum users I'v been trying to get a Mac OS on my laptop for the last few days, unfortunatly not with alot of success. I started out with iATKOS V1.0 because I had a step-by-step manual for that, but later it turned out to be a corrupt copy. Currently I'm trying out iATKOS v5i, so far it did work! I got the install to work, I can actually dual-boot it together with Vista. But alot of problems remain to be fixed. The main parts are my: Graphics Sound Battery/power management WiFi And some more minor things.. I'v been busy most of the time looking up and trying out solutions to get them all to work... with no success I know the graphics card is near to impossible because its a ATI 3470, but there has to be some solution... Now my question is, should I consider to try and install V7 of iATKOS, will this help me alot? Because the forums I was hanging around, looking for awnsers, all dictate from 2006/2007. Any help or tips are much appreciated! Thanks in advance! -Humes Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/179985-iatkos-advice-required/ Share on other sites
Humes
Bump, any advice would be much appreciated. Is IATKOS V7 worth the effort isntalling instead of V5? Or any other program for that matter? Chiodin
hello Humes, I've installed v7 two weeks ago and it works fine for me, but.. I installed it on my desktop. Soundcard works fine with VoodooHDA, which is installed by default (my soundcard is an Realtek ALC888) About the videocard, I had an ATI X1550, it's only works in a good way after i've installed natit.kext, before this I just get 1024X768 resolution. After install the kext, I can change display resolution but without QE/CI. A clue for you is: take a look on wiki, on HCL part you'll find a lot compatible hardware and a link to third parties drivers, which could be usefull to find compatible kexts for your hardware. I hope it help you. good luck =) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/179985-iatkos-advice-required/#findComment-1251521 Share on other sites
