Really noob question

Well I FINALLY got my dell's network card to work and I fixed my resolution to 1280x800 so now the only thing missing to make it perfect is SOUND!

 

I've tried reading everywhere to see how this works because it doesn't seem to work right.

 

I''ve tried using AppleHDAPatcher and it says to drag the codec dump to the icon. This is where I get confused. Are the things from here not codecs? Or am I not using the app right?

What I've tried doing is for example right click "codec_sigma9220.txt" to "save linked file to downloads". Then I try to drag it from downloads to AppleHDAPatcher icon and it doesn't even do anything

 

Please help! I'm only one step away from achieving glory!!

 

I THINK I need the 9220 version. I have Sigmatel High Definition Audio Codec on my:

 

Dell Inspiron 1420

Core 2 Duo T5850 @ 2.17GHz

with Intel X3100 Graphics Card if that helps any
