I posted this over at another site, but thought I should post over here in the off chance that someone over here might help.

Upgraded from 10.5.7 to 10.5.8. OS was legit store copy of X but used Munkey's old EFI method to boot. -v gives panic in appleintelcpupowermanagement.kext.

I had no problem upgrading from 10.5.6 to 10.5.7 using Updater, so I thought this shouldn't be a problem.

Here is the the -v readout:

Skiping duplicate extension "com.apple.driver.AppleAPIC" with older /same version (1.1.0 -> 1.1.0).

Replacing extension "com.apple.driver.AppleAHCIPort: with newer version (1.5.1 -> 1.7.0)

Extension "com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform" has immediate dependencies on both com.apple.kernel and com.apple.kpi components; use only one style.

Extension "com.apple.driver.AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement " has immediate dependencies on both com.apple.kernel and com.apple.kpi components; use only one style.

<this is where it freezes>

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

btw, changing the above AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext to .old did nothing other than freeze the system without a kernel panic. I extracted the AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext from the store bought CD and tried using it, but got a 'kernal mismatch' panic.

UPDATE: It appears that it's something in the way I configured my 'Munky' bootloader. I tried running 'cpus=2' from my installed bootloader 'the old EFI munky method' and it didn't work, BUT when I used the bootloader disk, it does.

However, I lost my keyboard/trackpad function again.

Can I update my bootloader to Cameleon 2 without having to re-install the OS?

I can't remember the kext's i need to recover my keyboard/trackpad, was it AppleAPIC and ApplePS2Controller or one or the other or different ones? I have a DV9700 Pavilion.

If anybody bothers to help out, I would be very greatful.
