ubuntu.user
Ok, Lemme start by saying that I am new here and I am in need of some assistance. Here is the AMD system I have: CPU: Athlon 64 X2 Brisbane 2.7 O/C'ed to 3.0 MoBo: Biostar TA790GX 128m Chipset: SB750 Graphics: XFX nVidia 8600 GS PCIE Sound: ALC888 Ethernet: Realtek RTL 8111C Ram: 6 gig 800mhz DDR2 The software I used is IPC OSX86 10.5.6 Options used during install were: Kernel: 9.5.0 VooDoo Video: NVDarwin 512 Chipset: VIA/SIS/Marvell/SB Audio: ALC888 Ethernet: Realtek R1000 USB:Patched Power Management:Generic Fixes:Seatbelt 10.5.5 Applications installed:All Ok, Just as the topic says, I am having random kernel panics and I cannot take screenshot of the error because the computer locks up tight. So far, I have tried booting with only 1 core, capping ram at 2048, turning off O.C.ing, and still no luck. Any Ideas? This OpSys is very nice and I would like to able to safely use it. Any help would be appreciated. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/179493-ipc-1056-amd/ Share on other sites

punk_zappa
So you have installed OSX in your machine? Panic happened in the first boot? The reason I am asking is that I have the same board and I cannot install iDeneb v1.5, kernel panic right away. I might have to try iPC to see how it goes. ubuntu.user
No. The operating system starts with no problem. It will run sometimes all day, and sometimes it will panic within 10 minutes of booting. I did find out that if I boot it with the legacy flag, when I then have a panic, it freezes before the error messages are splashed onto the screen. but it still panics. Now, seeing as you have the same board as I do and If you set up IPC the same as I did, I can tell you that your install may panic at the end when the installer tries to reboot after finishing. If it does, don't worry about it. Just do a hard reset and it should start up fine. Good luck! ubuntu.user
Ok, I fixed the problem. Don't ask how because I have no idea what I did. All I know is I re-installed the OS and it is running fine. Thanks folks.
