Darnei Tiger
Alright so i have a media/TV server i built for media applications. I am not a noob at osx86 by any means but i cant seem to figure this issue out. i am running an install of XxX 10.4.11. every time i run the installer, usb works fine. every time i load up to osx, usb does not work. no mice, no flash drives, psp either. the strange thing is, my aluminum apple keyboard works. anyway, my problem is, i have run through the install multiple times trying each usb related kext individually. none of the patches/kexts work to help me with my issue. when osx is loading up in verbose mode, it says "failed to load extension com.apple.driver.AppleUSBUHCI" in gold lettering. Its something that is irritating me, because as i can navigate most parts of osx with a keyboard, i cannot use installers, nor can i use usb to transfer things over. i tried going into the system preferences and enabling mouse keys so i can use the numberpad for the mouse as i have no ps/2 mouse, but i cant figure out how to navigate to all the options inside a system preferences pane. i get stuck and locked into the spotlight search field. Is there anybody that can help me with this issue? My system specs: 2.6ghz intel celeron SSE2 768mb ram PT800CE-A motherboard. list of full specs HERE 160gb seagate IDE hdd GeForce FX5200 XxX 10.4.11 w/SSE2 base install combo, ALL sound, network, ata controllers (except for usb like i stated) selected Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/179091-strange-usb-problem-im-sure-its-not-hard-but-help-would-be-appreciated/ Share on other sites
shoarthing
. . . your link includes a rather discouraging review. Does the BIOS have an option for Enable/Disable "Legacy USB" ? . . if so, you want to enable it: AppleUSBUHCI = USB1.1; EHCI = USB2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/179091-strange-usb-problem-im-sure-its-not-hard-but-help-would-be-appreciated/#findComment-1221858 Share on other sites
