Hello,

Part 1:

I have a system with an i7 Processor on an Intel DX58SO motherboard. I found a small guide on a different forum to get this system running using the iAtkos 10.5.5. I was able to successfully get the system running and booting into OSX on all three of my screens with dual vid cards, graphics support, and wireless thanks to Railink drivers.

My issue with this system is Kext file installtion..

Intel82566MM.kext <-----ethernet

VoodooHDA.kext <-----sound

The link below says those drivers work on this system, however when i drag them into the extensions folder shortly after i get the message that they are incorrectly installed or not compatible.

I have researched this problem and found several different ways to try and correct this either through the Terminal with certain commands or the Disk Utility to try and repair permissions.

Anybody have any suggestions for what kext files to use and how to properly install them?

Part 2:

Considering this system of mine with the i7 is almost completely working, i'd like to be able to update it.

I tried the built in apple update which connected to the web and downloaded the latest updates for the OS, upon restart, the computer would no longer boot up.

How should i go about updating the system? I couldn't get the system to install on a blank drive starting with the iAtkos 10.5.7, but could use the 10.5.5 iAtkos version. I read you could use the disc for the new version to upgrade? I tried on my system, AFTER i did the online apple update, but haven't tried with this new clean install. Should i?

Part 3: (system 2)

I have an ASUS M70VM-A1 Notebook.

I have been able to use the iDeneb 10.5.5 install and the iDeneb 10.5.7 v1.5.1 to successfully go all the way through the installation of OS X and upon reboot the system will get so far and hang.

iDeneb is the only version that i've gotten to boot the DVD with this notebook, iAtkos, Kalaway and Retail have not been able to boot.

Anybody skilled enough to help me figure out whats going wrong with this notebook?

Safemode doesn't work and just boots to a point and hangs as well.

Thanks in Advance

Well i found "Kext Helper V7" Which has solved my issues installing Kext driver files. So at this moment, my i7 hackintosh rig has all components up and running.

Still looking for ideas on upgrading from 10.5.5 to 10.5.7 without crashing the system.

Help please??
