graviahead
i used that distro, but with a different laptop though. i burned it on a dvd rw disc with slowest speed setting. my only other suggestion would be 2 run an md5 checker to make sure it downloaded correct (hashtab good for this: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/File-M.../HashTab.shtml) should be: 073EB015D77BBF5E4A97D0D37CEB3855 for jas amd-intel-sse2-sse3 with ppf1 & ppf2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/178592-jas-1048-help/#findComment-1223182 Share on other sites

bigbillyboy
I used Jas 10.4.8 and it works fine. Took some work to get the video right, and had to get a 3rd party NIC, but I'm typing this right now on it Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/178592-jas-1048-help/#findComment-1224591 Share on other sites

Dude, you're funny. . Windows drivers to be used to recognize parts in mac os x !?! Is not that simple. And, yeah, there's not such programs to scan your pc in mac os x and tell you what parts are recognized or not, because apple provides all the necessary drivers (witch by the way are called 'kext', in system-extensions), for all its comps and there fore is not your business to find them if you won a real mac or to update them, because they are updated also in the new versions of the os. So, if you are here, read more and then ask for help. Try first to understand the os and then use it. If you want all on the table, then the apple retail or resell stores are open for you. . Install in windows, if you also have it installed, everest ultimate and see your parts there and then come back here with them and we'll try to find you the best 'drivers' for your mac os x. I'll send you a link with a distro newer then jas with the last version of tiger 10.4.11 and with more drivers. By the way if you manage to install it and with all parts recognized or most of them (video, audio, ethernet, etc) you'll need just to figure out how to install the last security update for tiger (simple, but you need to be careful ), plus the others updates witch are safe, and you'll got the updated version of tiger. (apple still have support for tiger just with security updates, last version of tiger remained 10.4.11). Good luck!
