Bluetooth audio not working

Hello all, hopefully somebody will be able to help me!

 

I'm trying to stream stero audio to my bluetooth headset, however, it doesn't work right. it will pair fine and will stream audio, but it is very scratchy and cuts in and out. I am using the Azio BTD-v201 blueooth usb adapter. The exact same adapter works perfectly in windows.

 

Any ideas? I've been looking for a driver or stack to replace the defualt apple one, but I can't find one.
