AnimeOmega
Hey, I managed to install iPC OSX86 10.5.6 on my Dell Latitude x300 laptop and I'm quite happy with what I have so far (wireless - WPA included, bluetooth, sound, etc). The specs are: Pentium M 1.4Ghz, 640GB Ram, 80GB HDD (more: www.dell.com/downloads/us/products/latit/x300_spec.pdf). Things I selected during the installation (It might be relevant or even helpful to those googleing 'dell x300 osx86 laptop'): Voodo Kernel 9.5 Video: GMA900 Chipset: LegacyAppleIntelPIIXATA Ethernet: AppleBC5751Ethernet (read below for a kext that works with -x boot flag) Wireless: Intel 2200 Audio: AC97 Patches: PS/2 Mouse Fix, ACPI Fix, IOPCIFamily.kext patched, Seatbelt.kext 10.5.5 I was wondering if there's a 'repository' of .kext or what would be the steps required to -try- to get my laptop to 'sleep' (google what term, look where, etc.)? I currently change the brightness in the bios, is there any way to change it within the OS? I didn't select 'power management' at installation time, can I enable it now or do I have to re-install? (I did select all the applications except 'Marvin's AMD Utility', one of them could help me, right?) Is there anyway to -try- to enable 'scrolling' support in my touchpad? (nothing fancy, it would be nice not to have to move the mouse all the way to the right or use the up/down keys) Ethernet works under 'safe mode'(?) (-x at startup) with this: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...mp;#entry121928 But I get no sound if I boot with the -x flag, it might be conflicting with the 'AppleBC5751Ethernet' I selected at installation-time? What would be the necessary steps required to -try- and fix this? I wouldn't want to waste anyone's time, I'm just asking to 'get pointed in the right direction' (links, search terms, software, facts about what I can/can't do), not for tutorials or anything time-consuming.
