Hello to everyone, this is my first post and I need help and guide as a newbie in everything about MAC.. I'm trying to install the MAC OSX Leopard on a Dell Vostro notebook but I have problems. I downloaded the ToH DVD version and, as what I read from a webpage, I downloaded a patch to active it (from a pendrive)...

When I try to install it, after the installer loads many files, I see many errors and then the screen turns blue for a second, and then black and I can't do anything... I searched in the internet and read about the problems with the X3100 card but I'm not sure where to start... I need your orientation...

This is my hardware:

- CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 (I read that it has SSE3 support)... multi core support is set off from the BIOS

- chipset: Intel GM965

- videocard: Intel X3100 GMA

- HDD: 120GB SATA (in the BIOS the SATA Operation is set to AHCI)

- wireless card: Intel 3945ABG

- audio: Sigmatel 9228

I would like to have only the Leopard in my HDD and have virtual OS's if I need them... I saw some sites where they talk about formatting in different partitions to have various OS's... in some site, somebody tells to format the Leopard partition with FAT32... in other page, I read that it doesn't need to have any format... I have my HDD without format

These are some errors I see before the screen turns black (this is with the installer without any option):

ERROR: Firewire unable to determine security-mode; defaulting to full-secure

localhost com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.SystemStarter): Failed to count the number of files in "/System/Library/StartupItems": no such file or directory

localhost diskarbitrationd[44]: CoreRAIDServer [43]: 16387 not responding

mDNSResponder: Mach communication failed (ipc/send)

Please help me, I really want to have MAC OSX and have a different experience... I left windows some months ago but linux doesn't compares to MAC.

greetings

pprez
