pocker09
I've managed to "install" it but it says it's missing com.apple.boot.plist or something on boot; i get the same thing if i do -v with the boot. Anyone have advice? From the wiki about GA-EP43-DS3L which includes the same north and south bridge as mine, i'm wondering why this one works but mine doesn't? Install source is "iPC OSx86 10.5.6 Universal PPF5 (Final).iso" * Kernel: Vanilla, no kernel selected * Nvidia - 8400GS 512MB. Many problems with nvinject selection; made all sensible trials always got blue screen when trying to fix resolution. Then booted with -x [ie safe mode] repaired permissions AND connected to DVI [unplugging the analog VGA port]. No more blue screen! Full 1920x1200 crystal resolution. Then Updated from Apple to 10.5.7 * Chipset drivers: Intel ICH10 SATA (don't select any other SATA icon fix) * Audio: ALC888 . not tested yet. - Have a nuisance PS/2 keyboard that needs to be unpluged after every reboot. * Ethernet: Realtek R1000 onboard; did not touch NIC * USB drivers: not tested * Power management: ? * Fixes, patches: PS/2 for old keyboard, needs to be unpluged * DSDT patches: nothing * AppleSMBIOS patch: * Bootloaders: GRUB Mac is on 3rd partition grub dual boot ubuntu This board costs half of EP45 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/177501-need-advice-installing-on-ga-ep43-ud3l/#findComment-1214866 Share on other sites

myst711
Was able to use LifeHacker Snow Leopard Install using Retail DVD. http://lifehacker.com/5351485/how-to-build...finish#hardware Tutorial is actually showing how to do this on the GA-EP45, which is not much different than the EP43. The install will work flawlessly minus two exceptions. Video goes blank after choosing Thumb Drive as boot device. Hitting "TAB" on motherboard after choosing thumb drive as boot device and resolves the issue and brings up the bootloader (Some weird configuration with Video I presume) and you hit enter. Video again will go blank for 10-15 seconds before Snow Leopard Boots. Was not able to get Audio working using any known KEXTs that work with the EP43 for other Leopard Distros. Bought Creative XMOD on amazon (USB Audio adaptor) Works like a charm. Audio can be a little staticky at times. http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Labs-Xmod-S...7134&sr=8-1 Configuration: GA-EP43-UD3L 2GB Corsair XMS PC800 Creative XMOD USB Audio XFX 9800GT 512mb 650W PSU SATA DVD-RW Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/177501-need-advice-installing-on-ga-ep43-ud3l/#findComment-1289118 Share on other sites
