Crawl09
Hey Guys, Just wondering if anyone has been successful in installing OSX from the Iatkos.v7 distribution...or from any others for that matter. My configuration: Dell Dimension 2400 P4 @ 2,66Ghz BIOS Revision A05 Nvidia Geoforce FX5500 I also have a sata pci card installed. I have tried Iatkos v.7 with multiple configurations and at best got locked on the grey apple logo screen. I was also able to determine that I was 'waiting for root device' on one install but most times it is a reboot cycle at Darwin loading (Before grey screen) Also, I have tried - Kalyway, reboot cycle prior to install screen - iDeneb, unable to load - boot123 and retail, retail never loaded (possible bad burn) Not sure if there is more information you require. Any help is greatly appreciated. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/177362-dell-dimension-2400-iatkos-v7-install/ Share on other sites
reault
I think it was the XxX 10.5.6 distro I got to work, but I forgot which options I used, didn't write them down, then smart ol' me decided I should reinstall it. No luck since. :\ Part of it may be problems with the graphics drivers. I think I had a successful install with iATKOS but once it gets past the spingear screen the monitor goes into standby, which I assume is due to an incompatible video mode or driver issue. I have a bad / old DVD drive but here's what I've come up with: XxX 10.5.6 - Possibly works iATKOS 5i - Does not appear to work iDeneb - Got it to install, does not boot iPC - Will not load install / Could be bad image Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/177362-dell-dimension-2400-iatkos-v7-install/#findComment-1259230 Share on other sites
