crosquillas
Hi, I've been running 10.5.7 on an Inspiron 9400 beautifully for a few months now using Kalyway and a set of kexts. I inherited an older computer with the following specs: Abit KN8 Ultra X1900 All in Wonder 2gb PC 3200 Athlon 64 3700+ After constant kernel panics, I can get the installer to reliably boot on a SATA DVD drive. Strangely, I get kernel panics on boot if I use USB keyboard/mouse but I'm able to boot the installer fine on PS2. No matter what options I choose, GUID/MBR, Base install or Full Kexts, Kalyway or iPC, swapping RAM, toggling everything but basics off in the BIOS, the installer hangs about 1/10th of the way through. I've burned various copies of both to make sure it wasn't a media problem. I am in the process of getting another SATA DVD drive to test (IDE gives waiting for root device). I am downloading iAtkos at the moment just to make sure it's not a distro problem. I am at my wits end with this, any help would be appreciated.
